8. Using public transport
Why?
Replacing car journeys by buses and trains helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, especially as most trains are powered by electricity and battery-powered buses are being increasingly introduced. Air pollution is reduced, journeys e.g. to Leeds and Bradford can be faster, parking is not an issue and your time can be better spent e.g. reading a book.
