Zero Carbon Week
Zero Carbon Week 2024 will be held from Monday 23rd September to Saturday 28th September. We are organising a public meeting in the village on Wednesday 25th September, 7.30 pm at Mt Hermon Chapel called “What can we do to reduce our carbon footprint?” Click here for more details and a draft programme.
We encourage all residents and community groups in the village to reduce their carbon footprints. For ideas and further information on:
- Reducing personal carbon footprints
- Insulating our homes better
- Decreasing fossil fuel dependence for home heating
- Increasing renewable energy generation
- Flying less
- Switching to electric vehicles
- Walking and cycling more
- Using public transport
- Increasing plant-based diets
- Sequestering organic carbon
